What’s new and good with you Green Real Estate Investors and welcome to the Greenhabbing 101 Blog!  Let’s touch on how Eco Friendly Homes Offer a Glimpse into the Future.

For anyone who has not spent the last decade buried under a rock, it has become apparent that the earths ecological systems are changing, along with the climate all over the world. Everything from air, water, microorganisms, and soil has been affected, and accordingly new technology has arisen to help ensure that our earth will continue to be sustainable to all life forms.

These technologies have, unsurprisingly, spread to home building, and thus there is a different kind of emphasis on what makes eco friendly homes special.

The dwellings of the present and future that take into consideration the changes that the earth and its atmosphere have undergone are called eco friendly homes because of their link to new concepts and tasks involved with this informed way of thinking.

More and more, consumers are demanding that their homes are built with an eye to saving not only money but, more importantly, the well being of the inhabitants by only using materials that make the home healthier to live and breathe in.  This includes everything from energy to the very building materials supplied by the forests and rock beds.

Thus, there has been a surge over the past year or two in builders scrambling to provide what customers are asking for, with more technicians that are certified in dealing with the barrage of new products and technologies.  Further, there is no indication that this trend will slow.  Builders can no longer do things the old way, but need to think about how to make a home conform to energy conserving and efficient standards, now known as green.

This involves providing such systems as wind turbines, heat pumps, solar panels for hot water and other applications, as well as high efficiency lighting, and ultra efficient insulation.

Houses that meet the standards of energy efficiency can then be certified for a green label rating. This implies that many circumstances have been met across a wide-reaching array of services and materials, from window glazing to ultra-insulation, including such techniques as roof tiles placed with spacers for air pockets that keep heat from escaping, even smart electrical systems, for example.

The latter, for instance, might have sensors to turn off lights not being used or thermal sensors to increase or decrease heat according to circumstances.  Just remember that you do not need to go after a label for a quick fix and flip because it may not be worth the money to certify (you want to keep the profits in the deal)!

Thus, builders who want to sell green or eco friendly homes, the only kind that informed buyers will soon be interested in investing in, will have to make sure their efforts are coordinated by hiring only subcontractors and technicians schooled in everything from energy efficient appliances to under-floor heating.
